Fried Wontons With Ground Beef and Cabbage
Stir Fried Cabbage Bowl - a simple stir fry of footing pork, turkey or beef, cabbage and rice. It'south quick, easy and delicious!
Stir Fried Cabbage Basin
This stir fried cabbage recipe made with basis beef, and affectionately referred to as Crack Slaw by low carbers, was a favorite back when I was low carbing. As good with ground pork, turkey and even breakfast sausage, it's kind of like an inside out egg gyre, without the loftier carb wrapper. Some folks refer to this dish equally an egg roll stir fry or egg curlicue in a bowl.
Low carb. Yeah, in my dozens of diets over the years, I did information technology, the whole low carb matter, and frankly, information technology is a great mode to lose weight pretty quick, say, for case, to assist shed those holidays pounds. Or for a special occasion coming up. For me, however, it was not expert for the long term.
I have seen folks who accept done low carb as an culling lifestyle by choice, non necessity, and very ofttimes, well... they don't look well or salubrious to me. I'm not talking about folks who have to do reduced carbs for serious health issues folks. I'm not talking well-nigh folks who reduce their "bad" more often than not white carbs for more healthy carbs either. I'm talking about folks who consume massive amounts of meats, bacon and heavy fats to avert any carbohydrates at all - both the practiced ones and the bad ones.
Anyway, afterward losing nicely for awhile, my weight loss stalled pretty quick - manifestly my body likes a bit more balance. I mean, it started getting to the point that I had to limit SALAD for pete's sake considering things similar lettuce and tomatoes have carbs and so long as I had any carbs whatever, my weight loss stalled!
Whatever. It actually wasn't a lifestyle I could alive with forever.
But, if y'all want to knock off a few pounds fast, cutting back on carbs for a little while can certainly help with that. But be mindful that information technology can come back with a vengeance when yous decide it'south non really for yous either. Ask me how I know.
Anyway... when I was low carbing, this dish, referred to as "Crack Slaw," minus the rice of course, was a pop low carber dish that earned that name because information technology was supposedly addicting to many low carbers. While it's a succulent dish whether you are low carbing or going depression fat, I never quite got that connectedness personally.
This is a variation of the original recipe, which to the best of my memory started as a Trunk for Life recipe that used rice. Many low carbers oft utilise the packaged slaw mix and some substitute broccoli slaw, and of course, eliminated the rice. Yous can add in some shredded carrots, simply if yous're low carbing, go on in listen that carrots are a starchy vegetable.
Depending on the type of ground beef you apply, or if you sub in ground turkey, this is a fairly low calorie and low fat dish that is pretty darned tasty dish if you happen to love cabbage and it'south a dish that I nevertheless dear, even when I'm not low-carbing.
The Cajun is not much of a veggie eater and not large on cabbage at all, so I usually make this up just for myself on those nights when he's not that hungry ... like, for instance, yesterday, when he filled up on junk all solar day watching sports at his bud's house and had no room for a existent repast.
I prefer to use a fresh head of cabbage because I like it sliced thicker than the prepackaged coleslaw cabbage blend, which, every bit you can see past the motion picture below, tends to melt in the skillet, as opposed to the picture at the peak where the cabbage is more substantial. Yous tin certainly substitute the packaged cole slaw mix, but a head of cabbage is more than economical and will provide y'all with more cabbage to use for something else. If y'all're a cabbage lover similar me, that'due south the biggest bonus!
By the manner, if yous landed here from a Google search looking for traditional southern fried cabbage, yous can find that right here.
